Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent in the Catholic Church and is a day of reflection, repentance, and spiritual renewal.
Shrove Tuesday is a reminder to return to God with sincerity and humility, just as we hear in the words of Joel 2:12-13:
"Even now," declares the Lord, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning. Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate."
As a community, let’s embrace this day with prayer and gratitude, preparing ourselves for the journey of Lent.
