After serving more than a decade in Catholic education, Claire Cacchioni is preparing to take on a new role as Principal of Our Lady of Lourdes (OLOL) in West Kelowna.
A bilingual educator with a strong commitment to faith-based learning, Cacchioni has spent her career with the Catholic Independent Schools of Nelson Diocese (CISND) at Holy Cross, where she has supported students across a variety of grade levels and learning environments.
Cacchioni holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Okanagan University College, a Bachelor of Education specializing in Secondary Education from the University of Alberta, and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Brunswick. She is also an active parishioner and member of the Catholic Women’s League.
As she reflected on her time at Holy Cross, Cacchioni shared her appreciation for the school community that has been part of her journey over the years. She also shared her enthusiasm for the opportunity to serve the OLOL community.
“I look forward to collaborating with the staff, students, and families and continuing to build a place where faith and learning flourish,” said Cacchioni.
Throughout her career, Cacchioni has worked in several areas including French, Learning Assistance, and Reading Intervention. She has also been involved in diocesan initiatives and committees focused on supporting Catholic education and student learning.
“With a servant heart, I am committed to supporting student growth and helping create a learning environment rooted in faith, care, and community,” she said.
“Claire’s dedication to Christ, students, and community, along with her collaborative approach and strengths as an instructional leader, will support the work of the OLOL community,” said CISND Superintendent Pamela Guilbault.
As she begins her new role at OLOL, Cacchioni shared what continues to inspire her work in Catholic education.
“What I love most about working in Catholic education is the opportunity to weave the Gospel values into each day, which helps students to develop a strong moral compass that will help guide them on life’s journey.”
