St. Michael’s Catholic School is building on a strong foundation of community and

leadership with the appointment of longtime educator Angie Makway as Vice-Principal.

“As a parent of six children who have had the privilege of attending St. Michael’s, I feel a deep and personal commitment to its mission and continued success,” said Makway.

Reflecting on her 12 years as an educator at the school, Makway says one of the highlights has always been the strong sense of community.

“I am grateful for the wonderful students I have been able to support, and for the dedicated staff I have had the pleasure of working alongside,” she said.

Makway holds an Associate of Arts in TESOL from Briercrest College, a Bachelor of General Studies from Thompson Rivers University, and a Master’s degree in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University.

Since joining St. Michael’s, she has served in a variety of roles, including Inclusive Education Coordinator and Literacy Lead.

“I value the opportunity to be part of Catholic education, and to work in an environment where students are supported to grow not only academically, but also in their faith, character, and sense of purpose,” said Makway.

CISND Superintendent Pamela Guilbault says Makway’s experience and passion for education make her a strong addition to the school’s leadership team.

“Angie is a valued member of the St. Michael’s community, and we are pleased to see her step into this leadership role. Her experience and dedication to students will continue to support a strong and faith-filled learning environment.”
