Why Choose CISND for your Child?

At CISND, your child is known, valued, and supported as a whole person. Our Catholic schools nurture the mind, body, and spirit, providing a strong academic foundation while helping students grow in faith, character, confidence, and compassion. Here, your child is part of a welcoming community where they are encouraged to discover their gifts, build meaningful relationships, and become the person God is calling them to be.

Who can apply?

CISND welcomes families who are seeking a Catholic education rooted in faith, academic excellence, community, and service. As Catholic schools, we are committed to preserving and strengthening the Catholic character of our school communities.

First preference is given to baptized children from actively practicing Catholic families. This includes families who:

  • Are registered members of a Catholic parish

  • Attend Sunday Mass regularly

  • Participate in the life and activities of their parish

  • Support their parish financially according to their means

Second preference is given to baptized Catholic children from families who may not currently be active in parish life.

Beginning April 15, applications from non-Catholic families may be considered for the following school year, subject to available space. Enrollment of non-Catholic students is limited to ensure that the Catholic identity and character of our schools remain at the heart of our educational community.

These admission priorities apply equally to local and international applicants.

A Catholic Community for Your Child

Choosing CISND means choosing a school community where faith is lived, relationships matter, and every child is encouraged to grow in mind, body, and spirit. We invite families who share our commitment to Catholic education to discover what makes CISND a special place for their child to learn, grow, and belong.

Kindergarten: Is Your Child Ready?

At CISND, we believe that starting kindergarten is an important milestone. We want every child to begin school when they are ready to thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.

Children must be five years of age by December 31 to begin kindergarten.

In special circumstances, a child who will be younger than five as of December 31 may be considered for admission. This may include a combination of:

  • A readiness assessment

  • Observation in the child’s preschool setting

  • Discussion with preschool educators or care providers

  • Other information that may help determine the child’s readiness for school

The final decision regarding admission of a child under five rests with the school principal.

Please note that the provincial government does not provide funding for children who are under five as of December 31. If an under-age child is accepted, parents or guardians will be responsible for paying the equivalent of the government grant in addition to applicable tuition fees.

International Student Admissions

At CISND, we believe our schools are enriched by the cultures, experiences, and perspectives that international students bring to our community. Our schools are proud to welcome students from around the world and provide a supportive Catholic learning environment where every student can learn, grow, and belong.

International students are required to complete the same registration requirements as students residing in British Columbia, along with additional documentation and applicable fees related to international enrollment.

Please review the required forms and documents as well as the International Student Application Package for your school, to learn more about the application process and requirements.
