Christmas Blessings 2023

Christmas Blessings 2023

December 19, 2023

Dear Catholic Independent Schools of Nelson Diocese Community:

"The angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.'"  — Luke 2:10-11 (NIV)

As the Advent season ends, with joyful anticipation we fix our gazes on the manger. On behalf of CISND I extend my heartfelt wishes for a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to each member of our Catholic Independent Schools of Nelson Diocese family.

Christmas holds profound significance for us because we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His arrival, marked by humility and love, reminds us of the true meaning of the season – eternal life, hope, and grace given in the form of a child as a gift from our Lord.

Let us reflect on the teachings of Christ, focusing on the virtues of charity, kindness, peace and joy. May they inspire us to reach out to one another with open hands and hearts. Despite challenges or uncertainties, our community is strengthened when we continue to share the Gospel, and of ourselves in this holy season and throughout the year.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to Catholic education. Through this gift, we continue to nurture the minds and spirits of our students in the light of God's love.

May the blessings of Christmas be with you and your loved ones.

In faith and gratitude,
