Parent Groups

Parent Support Group (PSG)

Parent support group

The St. Joseph Parent Support Group (PSG) is a team of parent volunteers dedicated to supporting our students, staff and families through community-building events, fundraising initiatives, school programs and volunteer opportunities.

Our PSG is open to all St. Joseph parents and guardians. Whether you are interested in volunteering occasionally, joining a committee, attending meetings or taking on a leadership role, there is a place for you on our team.

The majority of our planning and communication takes place remotely through email, WhatsApp, and shared documents, making it easy for busy families to get involved in a way that works for their schedule.

No experience is required - just a willingness to contribute and help strengthen our school community.

Through volunteerism, fundraising and community-building initiatives, PSG helps create opportunities and experiences that enhance student life at St. Joseph School.

PSG meeting

PSG Meetings are typically held on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 in the school library - all parents and guardians are welcome.

Check the school calendar, newsletter or PSG Information Hub for upcoming meeting dates and updates.

Many St. Joseph families also participate in the independently operated St. Joseph Uniform Buy & Sell Facebook Group.

Please note that this group is independently managed by St. Joseph parents and is not operated by PSG or the school.

Volunteering

Why Volunteer

The Parent Support Group is built on the contributions of parents and guardians who care about strengthening our school community.

Whether you volunteer behind the scenes, support an event, help coordinate a program or take on a leadership role, every contribution helps create meaningful opportunities for our students, staff and families.

There is no expectation that every family volunteers in the same way. Some parents are able to support throughout the year, while others may only be available occasionally. Every contribution - big or small - helps make a difference.

Rooted in Faith

Praying for our students, staff, families, buildings and curriculum is at the root of our faith, and we believe truly determines our direction and progress as we journey together.

We invite all parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and parishioners to come and join us in praying for our Catholic schools Fridays at 8:45am at St. Joseph School. Our intent is to keep it casual and prompt. We will have scripture reading, short meditation and prayers of intention.

Praying for our children and their caregivers can certainly be done from home and we encourage all to continue to do so;  but praying together as a community of faith is powerful and a great blessing to us all.
