Catholic Independent Schools of Nelson Diocese – Support Staff Hiring Fair Looking for a meaningful career in a faith-filled environment? Catholic Independent Schools of Nelson Diocese (CISND) is hosting a Support Staff Hiring Fair on Tuesday, February 25th, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Catholic Pastoral Centre (3665 Benvoulin Road). We are seeking passionate individuals for roles such as Educational Assistants, Early Childhood Educators and Assistants, Custodians, Bookkeepers, Secretaries, and other support staff positions. Interested candidates are encouraged to bring their cover letter and resume and drop in anytime between 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM to learn more about these opportunities. As we wrap up Catholic Schools' Week, we want to share what our incredible school community had to say when asked what they love about their Catholic Schools.

We are really excited to host our Country Western Dinner and Dance on March 1st, 2025. Tickets are on sale at the school office until February 17th 2025. Call or e-mail the school to buy your tickets at dsimister@cisnd.ca or 250-368-6151 . Funds raised will go towards our Student Experience Fund. We intend to purchase classroom computers, playground equipment, and upgrade a variety of spaces throughout our facility. As you may know, St. Michael’s Catholic School is an Independent Elementary School. Our school is operated as a charity, and it is funded by a variety of sources. Our primary resource for funding is an annual BC provincial Government grant that equates to 50% of the funding provided to institutions in the public school system. Funds are derived from supporting church parishes, tuition, private donations and fundraising. We invite you to support our event with either a gift certificate, item for our games table or a financial contribution. Sponsors who have contributed to our Student Experience Fund will be recognized on the night of the event with announcements and your company name will be displayed on our sponsor board which will be posted on our School Website and Social Media page. Any contribution over $500 will receive, upon request, 2 TICKETS to this event. If you wish to contribute a game prize gift certificate or item, please contact the school to arrange for pick-up. Financial contributions may be directed to St. Michael’s School and a tax receipt will be issued. We are encouraging people to dress to theme as we want our community to have a fun night out, meet new people, and potentially win great prizes. Hope to see you at this event! YEE-HAW!

Grief Group is a program sponsored by Teck Trail Operations and supported by the Greater Trail Hospice Society. This free program is open to the public and is a program for any child who is experiencing grief. This is a free group that meets for 6 weeks. Students can start at any point within the six-week time frame. This is not a group counselling session it is an opportunity for kids to connect with others who are experiencing similar emotions.
